Abstract
The distribution and relative frequency of chromogranin(CG) A-immunoreactive cells in the pancreas were studied during developmental stages(fetus, neonate, 1-month old, 6-month-old and adult) of the Korean native goats by immunohistochemical methods
The different distribution and relative frequency of CG A-immunoreactive cells in the pancreas of the Korean native goat was observed during development. CG A-immunoreactive cells were detected in the exocrine portions of the all ages, in the endocrine portions of the neonate, 1-month-old, 6-month-old and adult, and in the duct of adult. The relative frequencies of these cells in the pancreas of the Korean native goat were increased with ages in the pancreatic islets and duct but decreased with ages in the exocrine portions. The distributions in the pancreatic islets of 6-month-old and adult Korean native goats were divided into two patterns: 1) the inner zone and 2) the peripheral zone of the pancreatic islet patterns.
